How can we help nervous learners build confidence?

How can we help nervous learners build confidence?

Explain the purpose of the session, what learners will be asked to do and how feedback will work. Uncertainty about the process can be addressed before an exercise starts. Invite questions and avoid presenting practice as a surprise test.

Create a supported practice opportunity

A trainer can introduce a manageable task and discuss the learner’s reasoning afterwards. Agree how someone asks for assistance or stops the activity. Any simulated conversation should reflect approved content and an appropriate level of challenge for the audience.

Review progress without promising an outcome

Ask which parts now feel clearer and which need further practice. A supportive VR exercise may be an add-on where the setting is useful, but it is not a treatment for anxiety. High5VR and appropriate professional trainers can discuss the learning task without guaranteeing confidence or performance improvements.
