Can VR support learning for people who find written instructions difficult?

Some learners may find a visual or spoken explanation useful alongside written instructions. That does not mean VR is suitable for everyone or that all reading difficulties have the same cause. Discuss the audience and learning task before selecting the presentation format.

Keep the experience understandable

Use approved language, clear steps and instructions that can be reviewed at an appropriate pace. Important information should not depend only on small on-screen text or an unexplained symbol. Audio, captions and facilitator guidance need to be planned around the people using the experience.

Offer support and another route

Test the exercise with representative learners and let trainers identify where assistance is needed. An alternative activity may be appropriate for someone who cannot comfortably use a headset. High5VR can scope accessible content options as an add-on to existing teaching, without claiming that a headset resolves a learning difficulty.
