How do you plan scenes for a first-person animated VR film?

A first-person animated VR film starts with the audience’s position in the story. In Sammy Rambles and the Floating Circus, viewers experience the adventure through Sammy’s eyes. Planning therefore needs to consider what happens around them and how each encounter is understood.

What should we consider?

Character placement, movement and sound contribute to the scene. Important activity should have a clear role rather than compete for attention without purpose. Dialogue addressed to Sammy becomes part of how the viewer experiences the encounter.

What needs to be agreed?

The creative team needs to consider timing and the freedom to look around. Testing can reveal whether essential narrative information remains understandable when viewers explore different directions. Animation and sound should support the same intended story moment.

How do we get started?
