Can we create a multiplayer VR game?

A multiplayer VR game needs a design for shared play as well as an individual experience. Decide what players do together, how they join and what happens when somebody leaves. Multiplayer is a development requirement, not a feature that can be assumed from a shared-looking environment.

Define the shared activity

Choose whether players compete, cooperate or explore. State the intended group size and whether they are in the same physical venue or different locations. These decisions shape interaction, communication and testing.

Plan the online behaviour

Agree session creation, connection handling and any accounts, hosting or moderation requirements. Decide which actions must stay synchronised. A small prototype can test the central shared task before the game grows.

Include operation after launch

Hosting, updates and support should be discussed separately from the initial build. High5VR can scope the multiplayer concept around the intended audience and devices, with no assumption that every headset platform can join the same game.

Costs depend on the agreed scope, development and asset work, any filming days, crew, equipment and post-production. A focused project can be inexpensive; undefined future features need to be reviewed separately.
