How do we prepare a 360° film for different viewing platforms?

A 360-degree film may need different exports for a headset, a video platform and a normal promotional screen. Agree the intended destinations before finishing the edit. One file is not necessarily suitable for every viewing route.

List the actual viewing platforms

Identify the headset application, website player or distribution service. Check its current upload requirements, supported formats and account arrangements. Decide whether viewers need immersive playback or a conventional preview that explains the film.

Test picture and sound together

Review the image, orientation and audio in the destination player. A file that looks correct in an editing application can behave differently after upload. Captions, menus and playback instructions may need their own preparation.

Keep an approved master

Maintain a clear record of the final edit and the versions delivered from it. High5VR can scope platform-specific exports and checks alongside the edit, including any additional flat promotional version required.
