Can a class share a small number of VR headsets?

A class can use a small number of VR headsets through a planned rotation. The timetable must allow every pupil to take part in the lesson, including those waiting for a turn. Group size alone does not tell you how many headsets are needed.

Calculate the full turn time

Include fitting, instructions, the experience itself, questions and cleaning. A short virtual scene may still need a longer slot once these steps are counted. Test one complete rotation before estimating what fits into a lesson.

Give each group a useful task

Pupils outside the headset might examine source material, prepare questions or analyse observations from a previous turn. If screen sharing is required, test it in advance. Keep the shared discussion focused on the learning objective rather than simply watching someone use equipment.

Keep supervision realistic

Place activity areas where staff can assist users without leaving others unsupported. Plan how to pause the rotation if someone needs help. Check age requirements, device guidance and school arrangements, with an alternative activity available.

Discuss your project with High5VR

High5VR can help plan content that works within a rotation. Share the lesson length, pupil numbers and staffing so the proposed experience suits the equipment actually available.
