Can Customers Explore a Kitchen Design in VR Before Buying?

A kitchen plan can contain all the right measurements and still be difficult for a customer to picture. A commissioned VR sales tool could give them a shared three-dimensional space in which to explore the proposed layout with a designer before making their decision.

Begin with the design conversation

The useful questions are practical: how the island relates to the cupboards, where the main work areas sit and whether the arrangement feels suitable for the customer. The designer can guide the visit and explain the choices rather than leaving somebody alone with an unfamiliar headset.

The visual model should be based on agreed dimensions and product information. A convincing image does not replace a measured survey, installation design or the checks required for the actual kitchen.

Agree which choices the tool should support

A first version might show a defined range of cabinet layouts, door styles and worktops. If the client wants live changes, saved selections or an administrator area for managing products, those features need to be specified and costed. They should not be assumed from the word VR.

Ask who will supply the models, textures and product data. Decide how new ranges will be added and how discontinued options will be removed so the presentation remains useful after launch.

Plan the first demonstration

Start with a small, representative kitchen and test the experience with the people who will sell and buy from it. Check navigation, readability and the designer’s ability to explain a particular detail.

High5VR can discuss a bespoke kitchen presentation project around those requirements. This is a service that can be commissioned, not a claim that a complete off-the-shelf kitchen configurator is already available. Hardware, delivery method and ongoing updates would form part of the agreed scope.
