A television advert and a social video can share production material, but the same edit may not suit both channels. Plan the versions before filming so important action and text can be framed appropriately.
Consider how the audience encounters the video
A social viewer may be scrolling, watching without sound or using a vertical screen. A TV commercial has its own delivery and clearance requirements. The opening, pacing and final instruction should suit the intended placement.
Capture for the required versions
Allow room for alternative crops and record the shots needed for short edits. Agree captions, graphics and aspect ratios. Reframing a finished advert is not always enough if important material sits outside the new frame.
Specify the deliverables
List the number, lengths and formats of the versions required. High5VR can plan one production with several agreed outputs, while allowing for the editing and review work each version needs.
