Can we turn a board game into a VR experience?

A board game concept can be explored in VR, but copying the physical table is only one option. Start by deciding what should remain familiar and what a virtual setting adds. Permission to adapt an existing game needs to be confirmed before production.

Identify the core rules

Describe the player count, turns, pieces and winning condition. Decide whether the experience must follow an established game exactly or is an original idea. Branding, characters and rule text may involve separate rights.

Prototype handling and shared play

Test selecting pieces, reading information and understanding whose turn it is. Cards, hidden information and multiplayer sessions require deliberate design. A beautiful table model is not a playable game by itself.

Keep the first version focused

A single board and a limited set of interactions can provide a useful prototype. High5VR can review the concept and scope the game systems, artwork and online behaviour before adding larger environments or optional modes.

Costs depend on the agreed scope, development and asset work, any filming days, crew, equipment and post-production. A focused project can be inexpensive; undefined future features need to be reviewed separately.
